Expressivity
Expressivity describes how a given genotype (genetic background) manifests clinically in individuals (phenotype). Marfan syndrome is an example of variable expressivity because some individuals will have a dilated aortic root, while others will not. On the other hand, achondroplasia demonstrates consistent expressivity because most individuals will exhibit the same characteristic features.
