X-linked
X-linked disorders result from pathogenic variants in genes that are located on the X chromosome. Males with a pathogenic variant in their single copy of the gene will be affected. Female heterozygotes are typically considered carriers, but can exhibit symptoms of some X-linked disorders. Male offspring of a female carrier have a 50% chance to inherit her pathogenic variant and be affected with the condition. All female offspring of an affected male will be carriers, and no male offspring of an affected male will inherit the variant.
