Likelihood ratio
The likelihood that a given test result would be expected in someone with the disorder compared to the likelihood that the same result would be expected in a patient without the disorder. The common abbreviation is LR+ for positive results and LR- for negative results. Likelihood ratios of 1 mean no effect on post test probabilities. LR+ of 2, 5, and 10 reflect a mild, moderate or large increase in effect, respectively. For LR-, 0.2, 0.5 and 0.1 reflect mild, moderate or large increase in effect, respectively.
