MSI
Microsatellite Instability. Microsatellites are repetitive segments of DNA that are susceptible to mutations. When the size of microsatellites in tumor tissue are different from normal tissue, it reflects pathogenic mutations in genes associated with the DNA mismatch repair (MMR) pathway. MSI at multiple microsatellite regions may be referred to as replication error phenotype (RER).
