Myosin, Heavy Chain 11, Smooth Muscle – a gene that codes for a smooth muscle myosin heavy-chain. In order to regulate blood flow and pressure, smooth muscle cells require cyclic interactions between alpha-actin (encoded by ACTA2) and the beta-myosin heavy chain (encoded by MYH11).
